How we work

Trust and standards

How we check practitioners, handle reviews, make money and put things right, written down so you can hold us to it.

Published by FoodFacts CONNECT, run by foodfacts.org. Last updated

In short

CONNECT is run by foodfacts.org, a UK non-profit. We only list dietitians and nutritionists whose registration we’ve checked on the official register. Nobody can pay to appear higher in our search results, and only clients who’ve had a session can leave a review.

These pages explain exactly how each of those works, and what to do if something goes wrong.

Our policies

  • How we verify practitioners

Which register we check for each title, what we confirm, when we check, and what verification can’t tell you.

    Read the policy

  • Reviews policy

Who can leave a review, how we make sure reviews come from real clients, how moderation works and why negative reviews stay up.

    Read the policy

  • How we make money

Our commission, the founding offer, why there are no listing fees, and exactly how we decide the order of search results.

    Read the policy

  • Raise a concern

What to do if something goes wrong, what we can do about it, and when to go to the HCPC, CORU or the AfN instead.

    Read the policy

  • Editorial policy

Who writes our guides, clinical review by a Registered Dietitian, the sources we use, independence, updates and AI tools.

  • Corrections policy

How to report a mistake, how we check it, and how corrections are made and labelled.

Other policies and help

CONNECT isn’t an emergency service

If you or someone else is in danger or needs urgent medical help, call 999 in the UK, or 112 or 999 (opens in a new tab) in Ireland. For urgent advice that isn’t an emergency, use NHS 111 (opens in a new tab) in the UK or your GP out-of-hours service (opens in a new tab) in Ireland.

Don’t use CONNECT messaging or our contact form for anything urgent. They aren’t monitored for emergencies.
