1. About foodfacts CONNECT

foodfacts CONNECT is a directory platform operated by FoodFacts Ltd that connects clients with registered dietitians and registered nutritionists. The platform facilitates discovery and booking of nutrition consultations. We are not a healthcare provider and do not provide medical advice.

2. Eligibility

To use foodfacts CONNECT, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Provide accurate and truthful information during registration
• For practitioners: hold a current, valid registration with the HCPC (Registered Dietitian) or AfN (Registered Nutritionist)

3. Practitioner Responsibilities

Practitioners listed on the platform agree to:

• Maintain a valid professional registration at all times
• Provide accurate information about qualifications, experience, and services
• Comply with all applicable professional standards and codes of conduct
• Maintain appropriate professional indemnity insurance
• Notify foodfacts CONNECT immediately if their registration lapses or is suspended
• Not make unsubstantiated health claims or provide advice outside their scope of practice

4. Client Responsibilities

Clients using the platform agree to:

• Provide accurate health information to practitioners
• Attend booked appointments or provide adequate notice of cancellation
• Not misuse the platform for any unlawful purpose
• Understand that nutrition advice is not a substitute for medical treatment

5. Payments and Refunds

Payments are processed securely via Stripe. foodfacts CONNECT charges a platform fee on each booking. Refund eligibility depends on the cancellation policy of the individual practitioner. In cases of practitioner no-show, a full refund will be issued. Disputes should be raised within 14 days of the appointment date.

6. Disclaimer of Medical Advice

foodfacts CONNECT is not a medical service. Content and consultations provided through the platform are for informational and nutritional guidance purposes only. They do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified medical professional for health concerns.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on the foodfacts CONNECT platform, including the logo, design, and written content, is owned by FoodFacts Ltd and protected by copyright. Practitioners retain ownership of their profile content but grant foodfacts CONNECT a licence to display it on the platform.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FoodFacts Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misrepresent professional credentials. Practitioners whose registrations lapse will be removed from the directory.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
